Whether you aspire to create stunning outdoor spaces for clients or want to embark on exciting personal projects, this 6-week course will give you essential professional garden design skills and principles to pursue your gardening ambitions.
Studying online with like-minded creatives,’ you will explore the fine art of plant and flower selection; you will refine your garden presentation techniques, discover the meaning behind capturing the “spirit of your garden” and more.
Through analysis, we will evaluate how common materials perform so we can understand their characteristics. This will empower you to make informed choices, selecting the ideal material that aligns with both your intended purpose and desired visual aesthetics.
Given the extensive array of furniture and accessories available in the market, we will navigate through essential factors for consideration. This will enable you to confidently choose the most suitable accessories that align with your outdoor space’s specific needs and aesthetics.
Master the fine art of plant and flower selection so you can select varieties that not only thrive, but also harmonise and enhance your outdoor designs and landscapes.
Refine your professional garden presentation techniques and skills by studying examples from professional practitioners within the industry.
Taught by industry leading tutors, our Design for Small Garden Spaces course will be delivered over live online lessons and tutorials.
You will also have allocated independent study time during and after lesson weeks to complete tasks and assignments. Our experienced tutors will be available during this time, should you have questions or need any advice.
Every National Design Academy student has access to our VLS (Virtual Learning Studio) which is full of helpful course resources, lessons, and study materials.
Week 1: 2 x 1.5 Hour Live Lessons.
Week 2: 2 x 1.5 Hour Live Lessons.
Week 3: 1 x 1.5 Hour Live Lesson & 1 x 2 Hour Live Lesson + Project Launch.
Week 4, 5 & 6: Independent Study & Project Work + 1 x 1 Hour Zoom Tutorial.
All lessons are delivered online via Zoom.

By the end of this course, you will have gained a grounded understanding of the fundamental principles underpinning professional garden design.
You will be equipped with the knowledge and information necessary to create your own garden schemes, serving as a foundation for further advanced studies in garden design.
