The NDA videography team recently headed to design agency, Collective to catch up with NDA Student of the Year 2017, Alex Nicolaidis. During the conversation, Alex shared how the NDA helped her achieve her dream of a creative career and how she is still grateful every day that she gets to apply the skills learned throughout her Interior Design degree to her working life.
Hear more of Alex’s story by watching the video below:
Alex started an NDA FdA in Heritage Interior Design in 2012. The course which, specialises in the restoration, conservation and preservation of some of the finest interiors in our historic, architectural landscape, speaks to Alex’s love of heritage properties.
When asked about why she chose the FdA in Heritage Interior Design, Alex said:
‘I have always been interested in heritage and enjoy visiting stately homes to see how homes were decorated back them, which is why I elected to do this course rather than just Interior Design.’
Alex’s skill and passion for heritage properties was clear when she completed her FdA with a Distinction. On completing her course, Alex made the decision to convert her FdA into a full BA(Hons) by enrolling onto the NDA BA(Hons) Top-Up in Heritage Interior Design. Alex graduated a year later with First Class Honours in her Degree.
Following her degree Alex was able to leave her 9 years working in the banking industry behind her and pursuer her new creative career.
