DIY Christmas Wreath Step-by-Step Guide

A Christmas wreath is a timeless holiday decoration that instantly transforms any door or window into a festive focal point. Creating your own wreath adds a personal touch and can be done with materials collected on a winter walk. In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a simple yet beautiful wreath, full of festive charm.

What You’ll Need:
  • Pliable twigs and sticks
  • Gardening wire
  • Fresh evergreen foliage (holly, rosemary, pine)
  • Dried fruits (such as oranges or apples)
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Ribbon (for finishing touches)
Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Create the Wreath Base

Using pliable twigs and sticks, bend them into a circular shape. Use a dinner plate to trace a circle on paper and use this as a guide while you form the frame. Secure the twigs with green gardening wire.

Step 2: Add Foliage

Once your base is secure, start adding your collected evergreen foliage. Use additional wire to attach the greenery to the base, slotting the foliage in between the twigs.

Step 3: Decorate! Decorate! Decorate!

Once your base is filled with greenery, decorate your wreath with dried oranges, cinnamon sticks, or any other festive touches you like. Use a wire to make sure they are tied securely.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

Tie a ribbon at the top of the wreath for a classic, festive look!

Enjoy Your New Wreath!

You now have a beautiful, custom-made wreath to add a personal touch to your Christmas décor.

Creating your own Christmas wreath is a fun and rewarding way to personalise your holiday décor. Using natural materials makes it a sustainable craft, and each wreath you create will be one-of-a-kind.
